Client Showcase: Michelle Dorion

Michelle Dorion is originally from Guatemala and has been based in the UK since 2001. A career in international finance took her across Europe, Japan, and the US. After leaving banking, she dedicated herself to philanthropic initiatives focused on education, access to opportunity, and emergency support.

She is the Co-Founder and Vice Chair of the London-based Institute of Imagination, which creates physical and temporal experiences for children and families to develop their imaginations—strengthening critical thinking, creativity, resilience, and wellbeing. Michelle also serves on the boards of several Guatemalan NGOs, including MAIA Impact School (education for Mayan girls), FUNSEPA (technology in education), and Asociación de Amigos del Lago (environment, education, empowerment). She is closely involved with Casa Hogar Feliz, an orphanage in the Guatemalan highlands, and actively mentors young people.

Michelle holds an MBA from Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. She lives in London with her husband and three children, while continuing to work in Guatemala. She has also served on the boards of several companies, contributing to Audit, Nominations, and Remuneration Committees.

Michelle returned to showjumping after a 30-year hiatus, inspired by her connection with Romeo, then a five-year-old at Lincoln Stud. With Romeo, she achieved her goal of competing at Hickstead, which she also did with her second horse, Molly (BE Quick III). She is now pursuing affiliated dressage, a discipline she has long admired for its emphasis on harmony between horse and rider. Michelle has been a long-standing member of Lincoln Stud, and we are excited to see Michelle progress further with her newest addition to her string of horses.
