Hickstead – All England September Tour (Week 1)
The first week of the September Tour at Hickstead was a brilliant showcase for our young horses, with several promising results that highlight the depth of talent in the team.
Breen Equestrian’s Little des Forêts shone in the 4-Year-Old classes, sharing 1st place on the opening two days before a classy performance in the Final to finish 6th with just one fence down. Colja also showed great consistency, taking equal 1st in Thursday’s qualifier and again sharing the top spot in the Final. Not far behind, Limited Touch impressed with a share of 1st in the qualifier and only a small error in the Final keeping them out of the top placings.
The older horses also delivered some strong performances. Westpoint Grandeur jumped into the ribbons with 14th place in the 1.20m on Wednesday, while Z7 Calmini was a highlight in the 1m classes, finishing 5th in the Speed Derby and adding further placings across the week.
In the Newcomers, Anne Nelson and Ashmolean placed on two occasions, showing their reliability and competitive edge. Anne also guided Tropical Storm to good rounds in the British Novice, building valuable experience for the future. To round off a successful week, Z7 Merrylegs produced consistent, confident performances in the 1m classes.
It was an exciting start to the September Tour, with results that reflect the strength of both our young prospects and established combinations.
