Delighted with how our horses jumped at the Derby meeting at Hickstead this week. Conditions were very testing due to the heavy rain. A big thank you to the Hickstead team who managed to keep the show on the road, especially in the Lorry park. The tractor drivers worked hard towing almost every lorry in and out. I jumped a few less classes than I had originally entered due to the conditions. Birmena and Cabela jumped two classes each, they both had 4f in the jump off in ring 3 on Thursday, Cabela was 12th on Saturday and Birmena jumped double clear. Tina Pardew’s Blue jumped good rounds in ring 4. My niece Cerys jumped two clear rounds on her new pony Puzzles in the mini challenge. It was fantastic watching the Derby yesterday from the open stand, the sun was out and it stayed dry, wonderful!!
